Sawtooth Apartments

Sawtooth Flats is a multifamily residential community designed to meet the needs of a growing Post Falls while remaining grounded in the character of North Idaho. From the earliest stages, the project focused on creating housing that feels approachable and livable, balancing density with a strong sense of place.

The site is organized to support everyday life, with buildings positioned to create comfortable shared outdoor spaces and clear, intuitive connections between parking, walkways, and front doors. This layout encourages a natural flow through the site and helps the development feel cohesive rather than crowded.

Architecturally, the project draws from the regional context through durable materials and thoughtfully varied building forms. Changes in massing and façade depth break down the scale of the buildings, allowing the development to sit comfortably within its surroundings while still presenting a contemporary residential identity. Inside, the apartments are designed with natural light and efficient layouts that support how residents actually live.

Throughout the process, Fusion Architecture worked closely with the development and consultant team to align design goals with zoning requirements, site constraints, and construction realities. The result is a multifamily project that contributes positively to the evolving fabric of Post Falls and provides housing that is both practical and enduring.
